the upper mezzanine
the stations connected via several sets of stairs, elevators, , escalators. there underground, lower mezzanine canarsie line, , aboveground, upper mezzanine myrtle avenue line. main fare control @ street level, through station house, though fare control exists on lower mezzanine canarsie line platform only. there 3 elevators: 1 canarsie line lower mezzanine; 1 lower mezzanine street level , upper mezzanine; , 1 upper mezzanine myrtle avenue line. there escalators lower upper mezzanine. lower mezzanine full-length, upper mezzanine consists of little more landing stairs, escalators, , elevators below middle of myrtle avenue line platform.
beginning in 2004, station underwent rehabilitation included structural steel repairs , significant expansion. work, completed judlau contracting in may 2008, cost $51 million. 2000 2008, dattner architects had joint venture parsons brinckerhoff build station s new station building. on april 19, 2007, newly expanded main station building @ triangle of myrtle, gates , wyckoff avenues formally opened. improvements complex included lighting upgrades, stairway reconfigurations, new interior finishes, , new communication system. in fall of 2007, station became ada-accessible 3 new elevators put service. glass-enclosed rotunda adorns front of building.
the new headhouse s ceiling capped mosaic, earth sky cadence giersbach. artwork completed under mta arts & design program.
exits
the myrtle avenue line s entrance/exit through station house. canarsie line has 4 additional exits; 1 on western corner of wyckoff , gates avenues; 2 on northern corner of wyckoff avenue , palmetto street; , 1 @ southeastern corner of myrtle , wyckoff avenues.
