david gussak grew in ny. received ba in art minor in psychology california state university in long beach in 1989 , ma in art therapy vermont college in 1991. during 9 month internship established art therapy program @ alpine convalescent center in alpine, ca delivered individual , group therapy services adults in long-term psychiatric facility. upon graduating in 1991, obtained position art therapist/rehabilitation therapist @ correctional medical facility in vacaville, ca. providing services acute psychiatric unit in adult male prison. received art therapy registration (atr) credential in 1994 , board certification (atr-bc) 1 year later through art therapy credentials board (atcb). during these years, gussak provided number of weekend courses , workshops variety of art therapy programs across united states, including college of notre dame in ca, college of new rochelle in ny, , mt. mary college in wisconsin.


in 1998, gussak joined art therapy faculty in psychology , special education department @ emporia state university (esu) in emporia, kansas. began instructor, , later became assistant professor , director of program 4 years taught there. simultaneously, gussak pursued doctoral degree. while there, gussak supervised art therapy practicum interns, including establishing prison , jail internship sites, , advised theses , masters projects. awarded ph.d. esu upon defending dissertation “the work of art therapist: interactionist perspective” on september 11, 2001.


gussak began teaching @ florida state university (fsu) in tallahassee, fl in 2002 assistant professor g raduate art therapy program in department of art education. became tenured , associate professor in 2007, appointed department chair of art education in 2008, , promoted professor in 2013. continues live in tallahassee, fl wife , family.

Sovereign Building Zollinger-Harned Company Building

the sovereign building in 2011 the whitehall mall store sold leh s department store, several years flagship store on hamilton street in allentown remained vacant. added national register of historic places in 1979. in december 1982 allentown store purchased sovereign realty , development. building renovated , reopened sovereign building in may 1984. renovations included glass-arched entrance pedestrian plaza between hamilton , court streets leading grapefruit-domed lobby decor of antique brass, mirrors, greenery , wing-backed chairs. main floor , basement developed retail spaces, while upper floors turned 42 private office suites. sovereign later went financial difficulties , building sold @ sheriffs sale on 22 september 1989. today building operated office building owner resides in philadelphia.
