after streams rejoin above lock, river crossed cookham bridge. along reach on buckinghamshire bank bourne end river wye joins thames. bourne end railway bridge, includes footbridge, crosses river here. along berkshire bank there water meadows. there navigation transit markers downstream of bourne end railway bridge, allow river users check speed.


further upstream towards berkshire bank gibraltar islands lie in front of quarry wood. there steep hills overhanging river @ cookham dean house called mount , kenneth grahame lived child situated. based of book on part of thames described wind in willows country.
