this unit formed 25 composite regiment on 17 may 1977 , based in potchefstroom. composite unit, comprised



a couple of gun batteries,
heavy mortars and,
counter artillery locating radar elements.(typically using cymbeline mk1 locating radar)

conversion medium regiment

by 1984 regiment altered removal of mortar , radar , conversion medium regiment.


operations

on 3 may 1984 regiment added operational control of far north command. citizen force regiment, primary function artillery support , secondary function infantry. regiment operational in border area zimbabwe in 1980 , in south west africa in 1983.


traditions
emblem design

the regiment had typical artillery tradition , instead of having colours considered cannons colours. unit received ceremonial emblems on 21 september 1984. emblem has traditional artillery background colours of red , dark blue separated gold glowing line depicting mooi river. gold penny represents efficiency while strikes typify artillery fire. design can seen show radar element part of unit.

the sovereign building in 2011 the whitehall mall store sold leh s department store, several years flagship store on hamilton street in allentown remained vacant. added national register of historic places in 1979. in december 1982 allentown store purchased sovereign realty , development. building renovated , reopened sovereign building in may 1984. renovations included glass-arched entrance pedestrian plaza between hamilton , court streets leading grapefruit-domed lobby decor of antique brass, mirrors, greenery , wing-backed chairs. main floor , basement developed retail spaces, while upper floors turned 42 private office suites. sovereign later went financial difficulties , building sold @ sheriffs sale on 22 september 1989. today building operated office building owner resides in philadelphia.
