the new series being sponsored big west advertising , bandai visual. previous macross series, macross delta staff have scouted new talent anime. auditions began on december 1, 2014. on february 7, 2015, reported on 8,000 people auditioned star in new series. final selection round held in tokyo in late april 2015. finalists went through interviews judges, , demonstrated singing , voice performing skills.
