on august 4, 2003, after entering guilty plea under agreement prosecutor, austin sentenced in u.s. district court judge stephen v. wilson 12 months in federal jail, $2000 fine, , 3 years probation, , other restrictions. time served in federal institution in tucson, arizona.


austin has claimed never authored explosives information, although freely hosted on webserver. says took plea deal because of possibility of 20-year sentence due terrorism enhancement clause in usa patriot act.


austin not indicted alleged hacking crimes. however, has acknowledged defacing sites, saying necessary message out.


release

austin released 1 month in july 2004 3 years of probation prohibited him having access computer or knowingly associating individuals espouse violence political change .
