the site of yarmouth south town has disappeared beneath new roads, superstores , industrial units, whilst of gorleston-on-sea swept away in 1991 make way roundabout on a12 gorleston inner relief road. road follows former railway alignment yarmouth beach point south of former gorleston station, , includes new drawbridge near site of breydon viaduct. site of gorleston links halt unrecognisable , have disappeared under residential development. housing estate has been built across track @ site of hopton-on-sea station; stationmaster s house still stands gates goods yard right of house. corton former station on line still standing; in use private residence, although platform canopy rundown. lowestoft north has disappeared under residential development , road named beeching drive occupies former alignment; west section of line has become non-vehicular right of way.


the absence of direct rail connection between yarmouth , lowestoft remains keenly felt today.
