elton hotel, 16–30 west main street. six-story second renaissance revival brick structure limestone trim, designed wilfred e. griggs, has dominated green ever since construction in 1904. today senior living facility.
enoch hubbard , george granniss houses, 33 , 41 church street. these 2 wood frame houses, in italianate , stick styles respectively, date 1860s. among few single-family residences remaining downtown, both since converted commercial use.
john kendrick house, 119 west main street. mattatuck museum operates brick italianate house on green, built in 1860s.
waterbury municipal center complex, grand , field streets. waterbury s city hall surrounded other large buildings in city beautiful monumental style, not of them public in function. cass gilbert s designs built between 1914 , 1922.

new haven county courthouse building, 15–17 kendrick street. stone second renaissance revival courthouse of monumental public buildings envisioned grand street corridor. has since been replaced newer building nearby, reflecting connecticut s abolition of county government.
odd fellows hall, 36 north main street. 1893 building fraternal organization marked growing importance within city. local architect wilfred griggs made rare use of venetian gothic mode in 1 of earliest buildings.
palace theatre, 86–110 east main street. years after 1922 opening, second renaissance revival building city s premier theater. hotel rooms included.

waterbury green
the two-acre (8,000 m²) park between north, east , west main , leavenworth streets, symbolic center of city, links waterbury years, renovated fragment of original town common. on course of 19th century assumed current configuration curved concrete walkways. since creation has been venue many public events such troop musters during wartime, demonstrations against wars , economic hardship during panic of 1893 , great depression, , speeches john, robert , ted kennedy.
