ablah library
the ablah library, opened in 1962, remains main library on wsu campus. named brothers frank , harvey ablah, donations financed library s construction, ablah library designed architect john hickman, student of frank lloyd wright. @ 157,924 square feet, largest of university libraries facilities , home majority of circulating print collections, wsu libraries special collections , university archives, leisure reading collection, university libraries extensive video collection, textbook collection, government publications depository, , patent , trademark collection.
the first floor of ablah library home university libraries learning commons, flexible-use study space providing patrons access high-end production , analysis software, collaborative study technologies , moveable seating , whiteboards patrons can rearrange , customize specific study or research needs.
mckinley chemistry library
the mckinley chemistry library, opened in 1964, provides faculty , students wsu chemistry department dedicated space study , research. library named dr. lloyd mckinley, (1895-1961), chair of wsu chemistry department 1927-1960. located on first floor of mckinley hall, chemistry library 2600 square feet in size , houses university libraries collections of core chemistry journals in print, reference materials , course reserves wsu chemistry department.
thurlow lieurance memorial music library
the thurlow lieurance memorial music library, located on third floor of jardine hall, houses music , foreign language collections of university libraries. named wichita-area composer , former dean of wsu school of music thurlow lieurance (1878-1963), library includes language-learning lab on 54,000 volumes of university libraries music collection, including on 9,000 compact disks , on 32,000 music scores.
