the aims of arya pratinidhi sabha (sa) encourage establishment, organisation , consolidation of arya samajs , vedic institutions in south africa, elucidate tenets of arya samaj , foster these principles in country, disseminate vedic religion , philosophy, promote art, culture , civilisation of india, encourage , advocate study of hindi , other indian languages, protect , defend rights of hindus , concern spiritual, moral , social upliftment, , co-operate other hindu organisations on matters affecting hindu community.


visiting preachers , missionaries

many learned vedic scholars , highly trained preachers visited south africa under auspices of arya pratinidhi sabha promote vedic culture. these included:



professor ralaram of d v college, hoshiarpur, india arrived in 1931 , delivered lectures on vedic religion.
mehta jaimini arrived in 1934 , launched south african hindu maha sabha.
pundit anand priyaji, arrived contingent of girls guides arya kanya mahavidyalaya of baroda, india, , gave display of physical culture, sang national , religious songs , through forceful impressive speeches spread teachings of vedic religion.
professor yashpal in 1937 , demonstrated powers of yoga.
pundit rishiram visited south africa in 1937 , 1945 , carried out teachings based on vedas, upanishads , gita.

veda niketan

the veda niketan concentrates on dissemination of vedic religion means of publication of literature , production of material e.g. cassettes - audio , video, compact discs, software, websites , conducts series of graded examinations on hindu dharma.


vedic purohit mandal

the vedic purohit mandal (academy of vedic priests) conducts systematic classes training of priests regardless of caste, creed, gender or colour. mandal enjoys large membership of women priests.


hindi education

arya samaj has encouraged teaching of hindi. in 1925, organisation promotion of hindi within arya samaj, hindi siksha sangh (hindi education union) established. sangh established uniform syllabus, conducted hindi classes , wrote examinations.
