the party asserts has pragmatic approach ukrainian eu membership respect country s foreign economic interests; supports walk path of european integration , implementation of respective standards in social , economic spheres . yet, given european financial crisis, party sees issue of ukraine s accession eu purely theoretical.

the party accepts ukrainian state language in ukraine, claims promote both development of state ukrainian language , languages of other nationalities residing on territory of ukraine .

the party of regions supports cancellation of number of benefits deputies of ukrainian parliament. leading party members have stated party mercilessly expel corrupt officials ranks .

in november 2013 party of regions mp oleh tsariov demanded criminal investigation activities of united states department of state lead techcamp in ukraine because believed engaged in preparations inciting civil war because during training instructors share experience of internet technologies, aimed @ shaping public opinion , enhancing protest potential , used organize street protests in libya, egypt, tunisia , syria .

the party of regions has lost of influence amid ongoing crisis in ukraine. 72 deputies have left party, , remaining deputies either supported key opposition demands impeaching yanukovich, firing zakharchenko , general prosecutor or did not vote.

on 23 february, party faction of verkhovna rada published statement blaming wrong on ″yanukovych , inner circle″, accusing him in particular of giving out ″criminal orders″ , lamenting whole party had been ″in effect hostage of 1 corrupt family″.

on 7 april 2014 party presented new economic doctrine consisted of minimal taxes , fees, maximum investor protection, increasing investment attractiveness, deregulation , simplification of licensing procedures, establishment of transparent tax system , tax cuts (a reduction of income tax 12.5%, reducing income tax rate 14%), decreasing inspections of small , medium-sized businesses not more once in 5 years, maintaining 15-year preferential tax system in agriculture, introduction of effective direct subsidies farmers compete on world market, compensation of 50% of new fixed assets in crop , livestock in creation of new industries.

on question of european integration, different views exist within party. on 1 hand, president viktor yanukovych, member of party, has repeatedly underlined pro-european stances. on other hand, experts have described party of regions eurosceptic. party s official stance increased european integration, within framework favorable ukraine.

the party supports affordable housing through state mortgages 3% annual percentage rate, social contracts employers, financial aid newborns (to doubled in 2017), perinatal centers in each region , upgrading of maternity homes.

the party supports @ least 75-percent placement in higher-educational institutions, minimum-wage student stipend, minimum 20-percent annual raise in educator salaries , universal internet access. in labor, party supports subsidizing employers of disabled, orphans, single mothers , workers on age 50; training unemployed occupations labor shortages; providing internships students; giving young professionals first job, , median salary of ₴8,000 2017.

the party supports median salary of ₴8,000 physicians , ₴5,500 other medical personnel, reducing basic-medicine prices 30 percent, providing access medicines patients cancer, heart disease, tuberculosis , hiv/aids, mobile medical facilities in rural areas, treatment , rehabilitation people limited physical abilities , new pools, stadiums, ice arenas , sports fields in regions.

the party supports comfortable, affordable housing; security senior citizens; repayment of deposits in sberbank of ussr ₴5,000 2017; minimum pension 20 percent on poverty threshold, , significant pension increases military , law-enforcement personnel. in environmental sector, party supports completion of shelter project chernobyl nuclear power plant 2015, installation of 20,000 centralized water-purification systems , recycling plants in each region.
