i had enough seniority democrat tax chair in minnesota legislature told dawkins ll never tax chair cause pissed off real-estate industry, pissed off bankers, , tried tax stuff right way little guys , they’re not going let tax chair . told m not going tax chair unless can these big lobbyists support me tax chair. minnesota s no different washington; big money runs our country on every level these days.
who gets run, gets elected, gets enacted, gets served gets enacted ruled big money these days. million dollars once in while little housing program or start youth program ... when re talking hundreds of millions of dollars s @ play time in politics; if insurance companies don t bill ain t gonna move, if don t write in come out o.k. bankers , finance industries , lenders put stop it, s , down line.

dawkins opposed polymet mining corporation , twin metals minnesota llc proposed sulfide/copper-nickel mines in northern minnesota. because of threat of acid mine drainage boundary waters canoe area wilderness , short term nature of jobs these mines create, dawkins had say:
i don t think need sort of sulfide mining, period ... whole thing profit foreign investors, , argue there s few jobs in mining industry, well, compare amount of jobs d if keep doing renewables , sustainables. until have debate, m totally against.
