stanback began nfl career dallas cowboys.


stanback drafted in fourth round (103rd overall) dallas cowboys in 2007 nfl draft. despite playing quarterback in college, drafted intention of being converted wide receiver. active 2 games in rookie season in 2007, did not record receptions. in 2008, stanback active 8 games, catching 2 passes 24 yards in opener against new york giants. placed on injured reserve shoulder injury on december 26, 2008. waived cowboys on september 5, 2009, after not being able remain healthy during time team.


new england patriots

stanback signed practice squad of new england patriots quarterback on september 6, 2009. promoted active roster on november 14, 2009, when patriots placed rookie wide receiver brandon tate on injured reserve. caught first pass patriot tom brady next day, in patriots week 10 game against indianapolis colts. active 6 of patriots final 8 games of season, finishing 3 receptions 22 yards. returned 1 kickoff 22 yards. waived on may 27, 2010.


seattle seahawks

stanback claimed off waivers seattle seahawks on june 1, 2010. on august 7, 2010, stanback tore left achilles tendon during practice. waived/injured seahawks on august 8, , placed on injured reserve. on september 4, 2011, placed on injured reserve again, , released following day injury settlement.


new york giants

stanback signed giants practice squad on november 30, 2011. remain there team went on win super bowl xlvi. waived before start of 2012 season.


jacksonville jaguars

stanback signed jacksonville jaguars practice squad on december 5, 2012. promoted active roster on december 18 , converted tight end. released on august 27, 2013.
