he started career @ bury trainee in august 1999, playing 33 games , scoring 1 goal before joining oldham athletic £200,000 in october 2001, in second season first-team player. after playing further 75 games , scoring second goal, signed sheffield united £100,000 in july 2003 during financial crisis @ oldham.

having signed blades in summer armstrong made debut in first game of 2003–04 season, 0–0 draw gillingham @ bramall lane. scored first goal club in 2–0 victory on crewe on 4 november 2003 suffer serious injury few weeks later. returned regular first team football after battling bravely career-threatening knee injury problems limited him 13 games in first season blades , ruled him out whole of 2004–05.


after brief spell @ blackpool improve match fitness earlier in season, armstrong became valuable member of team gained promotion premiership in 2005–06. rewarded fan s player of month award march, capital 1 young player of year and, in july 2006, new three-year contract. armstrong awarded special award manager neil warnock @ end of promotion season mark courage , return action after career threatening injury.


armstrong regular starter on next 2 seasons asked fill in across field, playing both in centre , out wide in midfield , defence. succumbed several injuries kept him sidelined through period , missed of second half of 2007–2008 season due groin injury. following return fitness found himself unable break starting eleven under new manager kevin blackwell.

with first team options limited @ bramall lane allowed leave , signed reading in august 2008 initial fee of £500,000 potential rise £800,000 depending on conditions. armstrong made debut royals in 4–2 home win on crystal palace on 30 august 2008. since then, has become first team regular , scored first league goal reading against watford on 9 january 2009. voted player of season 2008/09 season 80% of votes.

the sovereign building in 2011 the whitehall mall store sold leh s department store, several years flagship store on hamilton street in allentown remained vacant. added national register of historic places in 1979. in december 1982 allentown store purchased sovereign realty , development. building renovated , reopened sovereign building in may 1984. renovations included glass-arched entrance pedestrian plaza between hamilton , court streets leading grapefruit-domed lobby decor of antique brass, mirrors, greenery , wing-backed chairs. main floor , basement developed retail spaces, while upper floors turned 42 private office suites. sovereign later went financial difficulties , building sold @ sheriffs sale on 22 september 1989. today building operated office building owner resides in philadelphia.
