early life

edward lonergan graduated union college in schenectady, new york in 1981, received bachelor of arts degree in political science.


career

from 1981 2002, worked @ procter & gamble (nyse: pg). may 2002 december 2005, served president european region of gillette company, subsidiary of procter & gamble. 2006 2011, served president , ceo of diversey, inc., manufacturer of cleaning , hygiene products became subsidiary of sealed air (nyse: see) in 2011.


from october 2012 january 2015, served president , ceo of chiquita brands international (nyse: cqb), publicly traded corporation leading distributor of bananas in united states. replaced former ceo fernando aguirre.


since august 2015, has served chairman of zep inc., new mountain capital company. serves on board of directors of commercial markets holdco , owens corning (nyse: oc), world s largest manufacturer of fiberglass.


personal life

he married 2 adult children.

the sovereign building in 2011 the whitehall mall store sold leh s department store, several years flagship store on hamilton street in allentown remained vacant. added national register of historic places in 1979. in december 1982 allentown store purchased sovereign realty , development. building renovated , reopened sovereign building in may 1984. renovations included glass-arched entrance pedestrian plaza between hamilton , court streets leading grapefruit-domed lobby decor of antique brass, mirrors, greenery , wing-backed chairs. main floor , basement developed retail spaces, while upper floors turned 42 private office suites. sovereign later went financial difficulties , building sold @ sheriffs sale on 22 september 1989. today building operated office building owner resides in philadelphia.
