at parliamentary elections on 26 march 2006, party gained 32.14% of votes , 186 (out of 450) seats in verkhovna rada (the ukrainian parliament), forming largest parliamentary group. on 6 july 2006, socialist party of ukraine abandoned orange coalition between our ukraine , yulia tymoshenko bloc following failure of each bloc reach agreement on formation of governing coalition.


on 10 july 2006 new parliamentary majority titled anti-crisis coalition , led party of regions , including socialist party , communist party, formed, nominating viktor yanukovych post of prime minister.


the coalition remained in office until special parliamentary elections held in september 2007.


at crimean parliamentary election, 2006 party part of yanukovych! election bloc.


on 19 january 2007, yevhen kushnaryov, member of party of regions, died in izium result of accidental gunshot wound received while hunting.


in mid-2007, ukrainian republican party , labour ukraine merged party of regions.

Sovereign Building Zollinger-Harned Company Building

the sovereign building in 2011 the whitehall mall store sold leh s department store, several years flagship store on hamilton street in allentown remained vacant. added national register of historic places in 1979. in december 1982 allentown store purchased sovereign realty , development. building renovated , reopened sovereign building in may 1984. renovations included glass-arched entrance pedestrian plaza between hamilton , court streets leading grapefruit-domed lobby decor of antique brass, mirrors, greenery , wing-backed chairs. main floor , basement developed retail spaces, while upper floors turned 42 private office suites. sovereign later went financial difficulties , building sold @ sheriffs sale on 22 september 1989. today building operated office building owner resides in philadelphia.
