the rear elevation, seen west, shows arched windows in side walls.


the church has ornate, decorative façade combines classical elements thomas elworthy s preferred renaissance revival style , italianate features. built of red brick, laid in flemish bond pattern, terracotta window surrounds , dressings designed architectural firm of stiff , sons. roof has been renewed concrete tiles. steps terracotta-dressed cement walls , piers lead 3 identical round-arched entrance doors wood panelling, flanked terracotta columns , set below balustrade. supported on brackets foliage decoration, , has 4 decorative terracotta urns corresponding top of each column. forms centre bay of three-bay façade; outer bays have paired round-arched windows. balustrade spans width of façade between ground- , first-floor level, forming kind of porch or portico. @ first-floor level, classical motifs include composite/corinthian pilasters , intricately decorated pediment. tall pilasters arranged in pairs flanking central bay , singly @ outer bays. pediment topped terracotta urn , flanked stone balustrade on both sides. there 3 arched windows centre bay, centre 1 taller , wider , featuring engaged columns (columns partially sunk wall attached). paired round-arched windows light outer bays. side walls have 5 arched windows set below cornice of moulded terracotta. hall beneath church includes full-height single-bay brick extension arched window. elaborate wooden gallery supported on iron columns survives inside.
