when franchise based in dallas, team conducted inaugural training camp @ new mexico military institute in roswell, new mexico. moved camp southern methodist university, owner lamar hunt s alma mater, 1961 , continued practice there until 1965. 1966 1971, chiefs practiced in swope park in kansas city, , 1972 1991 held camp @ william jewell college in clay county, missouri–where lamar hunt had extensive business dealings including worlds of fun, oceans of fun , subtropolis.

from 1992 2009 chiefs conducted summer training camp @ university of wisconsin–river falls in river falls, wisconsin. chiefs 2007 training camp documented in hbo/nfl films documentary reality television series, hard knocks. following passage of $25 million state tax credit proposal, chiefs moved training camp missouri western state university in st. joseph, missouri, in 2010. bulk of tax credits went improvements arrowhead stadium $10 million applied move missouri western. climate-controlled, 120-yard nfl regulation grass indoor field, , office space chiefs constructed @ missouri western adjacent school s spratt stadium before 2010 season.


outside of training camp , during regular season, chiefs conduct practices @ own training facility nearby arrowhead stadium. facility located near raytown road entrance truman sports complex east of interstate 435 , features 3 outdoor fields (two grass , 1 artificial turf) indoor facility own full-size field.

the sovereign building in 2011 the whitehall mall store sold leh s department store, several years flagship store on hamilton street in allentown remained vacant. added national register of historic places in 1979. in december 1982 allentown store purchased sovereign realty , development. building renovated , reopened sovereign building in may 1984. renovations included glass-arched entrance pedestrian plaza between hamilton , court streets leading grapefruit-domed lobby decor of antique brass, mirrors, greenery , wing-backed chairs. main floor , basement developed retail spaces, while upper floors turned 42 private office suites. sovereign later went financial difficulties , building sold @ sheriffs sale on 22 september 1989. today building operated office building owner resides in philadelphia.
