establishing north korea policy: ministry coordinates south korean government s policy toward north korea , establishes , implements long-term policies national unification. ministry encourages public participation in overall process. pursue unification policies, ministry analyzes political, socioeconomic , military aspects of north korea.
coordinating inter-korean dialogue: chief government body communicate north korea, ministry of unification coordinates inter-korean dialogue @ levels in political, economic, military , humanitarian areas.
pursuing inter-korean cooperation: in addition, ministry sets rules , procedures inter-korean economic cooperation including governing mt. geumgang tour, gaeseong industrial complex , reconnection of inter-korean roads , railways , various exchange programs in athletic, cultural , academic areas. includes pursuit of humanitarian cooperation on human rights conditions in north korea, south korean pow , abductee issues, reunion of separated families, settlement support dislocated north koreans , cross-border exchanges of goods , people alongside inter-korean roads , railways.
educating public on unification. ministry enlists services of local ngos provide educational information people throughout korea.

the sovereign building in 2011 the whitehall mall store sold leh s department store, several years flagship store on hamilton street in allentown remained vacant. added national register of historic places in 1979. in december 1982 allentown store purchased sovereign realty , development. building renovated , reopened sovereign building in may 1984. renovations included glass-arched entrance pedestrian plaza between hamilton , court streets leading grapefruit-domed lobby decor of antique brass, mirrors, greenery , wing-backed chairs. main floor , basement developed retail spaces, while upper floors turned 42 private office suites. sovereign later went financial difficulties , building sold @ sheriffs sale on 22 september 1989. today building operated office building owner resides in philadelphia.
