an azure (name used blue colour in heraldry) shield background of coat of arms. consists of valley surrounded 2 rocks (coloured argent) wooded vert (name used green colour in heraldry) trees. there adit located in rock on right. miner wearing sable (name used black colour in heraldry) coat, sable cap , argent trousers stands on vert grass in middle of valley. represents charge of coat of arms. can see him holding gad in left hand lying on left shoulder, holding moil in right hand. both gad , moil coloured proper (name used natural colour in heraldry).


the first appearance of bruntal coat of arms dated 1287 when coat of arms containing charge of miner published part of document. charge depicts miner commemorate mining in surroundings of bruntal. adit placed in rock follows same purpose. mining took place 13th 17th century. gold, silver , iron ores mined in surroundings of bruntal. valley result of original german name of bruntal freudenthal , second part of name “thal” means “a valley” in german.
