the iea operates within 3 concentric circles of interfaith work. in first , preeminent circle – inner-israeli circle – iea focuses on promotion of respectful relations between jews, muslims, christians, druze , bahais living within israel. according website, process in turn impacts , enables second circle – israeli-palestinian circle – iea works in cooperation 8 palestinian organizations across palestinian territories. work of first , second circles, according iea s organizers, aids work of third circle – middle east region – iea has been major founder in establishing middle east abrahamic forum, along similar organizations egypt, iran, jordan, lebanon, tunisia , turkey.
additionally, iea maintains 3 interconnected programmatic sections. first section, commonly regarded general program, accessible segments of society, regardless of age or sex. women s interfaith encounter (wie) launched in winter of 2001 address women s needs while third programmatic section, youth interfaith encounter (yie), designs , implements programs young adults. yie created in spring of 2002.
lastly, iea employs 3 different program formats through facilitates interfaith encounters: inter-religious study sessions, multi-day conferences, , desert seminars. in bringing jews, muslims, christians, druze, , baha study topics of relevance own religious perspectives, interfaith study used achieve 2 main goals. primarily, serves vehicle towards understanding, acceptance, , respect other , serves way deepen awareness of 1 s own religion.

in acknowledgement of iea s work, unesco has recognized iea organization contributing culture of peace , actor of global movement culture of peace (a united nations initiative).
