the true cuckooshrikes found singly, in pairs, , in small family groups, whereas minivets, flycatcher-shrikes , wood-shrikes more form small flocks. there considerable amount of variation within family whole regards calls, call infrequently , some, principally minivets, extremely vocal.


these insectivorous, , take large hairy caterpillars. have been recorded eating small vertebrates, , fruit, seeds , other plant matter.


information breeding of family incomplete, many species having never been studied. in species studied cuckooshrikes territorial; in species not migrate these territories maintained year round. cuckooshrikes monogamous, pair bonds apparently lasting throughout year. 1 instance of non-monogamous breeding has been recorded, instance of polygyny in white-winged trillers in australia, 1 male aided 2 females in raising young. several species of cuckooshrike exhibit cooperative breeding. 4 blotchy white, green or blue eggs laid in cup nest in tree. incubation 2 weeks.
