osler built along historic qu appelle, long lake , saskatchewan railroad after surveying starting in 1890 engineering firm of osler, hammond , nanton.


in 1892 station house built. town of osler came existence after , became 1 of many towns , villages spring along new railroad. osler officially became village on april 9, 1904, , stayed village until may 1, 1918, when became hamlet. then, in 1949 upgraded organized hamlet status. osler became village second time in 1968, , officially designated town of osler in 1985.


by 1970s railroad station had fallen disuse , demolished canadian national railway in 1973.
