(using patents applied in 1943) plugs , sockets rated @ 13 a , 1 of competing types use on ring final circuits. never popular in private houses deployed in prefabricated houses , council housing. bbc used them. local authorities continued use them in new installations until late 1950s. many d&s sockets still in use until 1980s, although difficulty in obtaining plugs them after around 1970 forced users replace them bs 1363 sockets. d&s plug suffered serious design fault: line pin fuse screwed plug body , tended come unscrewed on own in use. fuse worked loose end protruding socket, electrically live , posing shock hazard, when plug removed.

the sovereign building in 2011 the whitehall mall store sold leh s department store, several years flagship store on hamilton street in allentown remained vacant. added national register of historic places in 1979. in december 1982 allentown store purchased sovereign realty , development. building renovated , reopened sovereign building in may 1984. renovations included glass-arched entrance pedestrian plaza between hamilton , court streets leading grapefruit-domed lobby decor of antique brass, mirrors, greenery , wing-backed chairs. main floor , basement developed retail spaces, while upper floors turned 42 private office suites. sovereign later went financial difficulties , building sold @ sheriffs sale on 22 september 1989. today building operated office building owner resides in philadelphia.
