pre-season , friendlies

the first training session season took place on june 10, 2009, @ gsp stadium , on june 21, team left obertraun in austria, perform main stage of pre-season training. on july 3, team moved leogang continue pre-season preparation. apoel returned cyprus on july 9. during pre-season training stage in austria, apoel played 3 friendly matches.

apoel started season winning 2009 cypriot super cup, beating apop kinyras 2–1 on 9 august 2009. sebastián gonzález opened score apop kinyras in 4th minute , apoel equalised boban grnčarov in 49th minute. winner came nektarios alexandrou in 85th minute.

apoel finished 2nd in 2009–10 cypriot first division 65 points, behind champions omonia had 74 points. so, apoel won place 2010–11 uefa europa league second qualifying round.

apoel reached final of 2009–10 cypriot cup eliminating ethnikos achna (4–2 agg.), ermis aradippou (6–0 agg.) , aris limassol (2–0 agg.). in cup final held @ gsz stadium on 15 may 2010, apoel lost apollon limassol 2–1. apollon took lead in 1st minute goal moustapha bangura , apoel equalised in 23rd minute header marcin Żewłakow. apollon scored winner giorgos merkis in 72nd minute header close range.

apoel finished fourth in group having equal points atlético madrid, failed qualify uefa europa league, because of away goal atlético madrid had scored in nicosia. @ end of season atlético became eventual winner of 2009–10 uefa europa league.

the sovereign building in 2011 the whitehall mall store sold leh s department store, several years flagship store on hamilton street in allentown remained vacant. added national register of historic places in 1979. in december 1982 allentown store purchased sovereign realty , development. building renovated , reopened sovereign building in may 1984. renovations included glass-arched entrance pedestrian plaza between hamilton , court streets leading grapefruit-domed lobby decor of antique brass, mirrors, greenery , wing-backed chairs. main floor , basement developed retail spaces, while upper floors turned 42 private office suites. sovereign later went financial difficulties , building sold @ sheriffs sale on 22 september 1989. today building operated office building owner resides in philadelphia.
