on mk mount, on daimler mk 3 lorry


this standard qf 13 pounder field gun barrel , breech addition of retaining catch breech retain round when loading @ high angles.


it first approved in october 1914 , issued on mk i high angle mounting, mounted on motor lorry. mk i mounting had additional recuperator housing mounted directly above normal recuperator facilitate gun runout @ high angles. hence appearance of gun barrel 2 shorter tubes of similar diameter above it.


mk ii mount improved usability, added deflection gear , recoil system improved additional recuperator became unnecessary , removed. on mk ii mount gun has appearance of standard 13 pounder.


the mount design unusual in having both gunlayers on left side.


following world war i, guns returned service standard 13 pounder field guns.

the sovereign building in 2011 the whitehall mall store sold leh s department store, several years flagship store on hamilton street in allentown remained vacant. added national register of historic places in 1979. in december 1982 allentown store purchased sovereign realty , development. building renovated , reopened sovereign building in may 1984. renovations included glass-arched entrance pedestrian plaza between hamilton , court streets leading grapefruit-domed lobby decor of antique brass, mirrors, greenery , wing-backed chairs. main floor , basement developed retail spaces, while upper floors turned 42 private office suites. sovereign later went financial difficulties , building sold @ sheriffs sale on 22 september 1989. today building operated office building owner resides in philadelphia.
