malcolm young 20 when , younger brother angus formed ac/dc in 1973. angus on lead guitar, malcolm on rhythm guitar, colin burgess on drums, larry van kriedt on bass guitar , dave evans on vocals. can sit next girl, first single, later re-recorded bon scott vocalist. decided upon name ac/dc after seeing letters ac/dc on of sister margaret s sewing machine.


in 1977 returned britain , began european tour black sabbath. while bon scott , ozzy osbourne became friends, relations less cordial between other members of respective bands. in 1 incident, geezer butler pulled knife on malcolm young. later in year toured rainbow.


towards end of 1977, bassist mark evans fired; purportedly find sing backup vocals. evans described disagreement angus , malcolm contributing factor. replaced cliff williams. neither of young brothers has elaborated on departure of evans, though richard griffiths, ceo of epic records , booking agent ac/dc in mid-1970s, later commented, knew mark wasn t going last, of nice guy.


in 1988, young missed majority of ac/dc s blow video world tour address alcohol abuse issues. became sober , returned band. during absence replaced nephew, stevie young.

the sovereign building in 2011 the whitehall mall store sold leh s department store, several years flagship store on hamilton street in allentown remained vacant. added national register of historic places in 1979. in december 1982 allentown store purchased sovereign realty , development. building renovated , reopened sovereign building in may 1984. renovations included glass-arched entrance pedestrian plaza between hamilton , court streets leading grapefruit-domed lobby decor of antique brass, mirrors, greenery , wing-backed chairs. main floor , basement developed retail spaces, while upper floors turned 42 private office suites. sovereign later went financial difficulties , building sold @ sheriffs sale on 22 september 1989. today building operated office building owner resides in philadelphia.
