college career

berry received many scholarship offers, chose attend university of tennessee, played 2007-2009 under head coaches phillip fulmer , lane kiffin.


2007 season

as freshman, berry replaced fifth year senior jarod parrish after strong showing in first collegiate game against california. berry turned in several big plays during freshman season en route being named sec defensive freshman of year sporting news. 222 return yards (on 5 interceptions) broke 37-year-old tennessee record 43 yards. berry led sec freshmen in tackles 86. twice named sec freshman of week play on regular season s final 3 games. after season, named 1st team freshman all-american rivals.


2008 season

berry in 2008 member of tennessee volunteers.


prior season, despite being sophomore, berry named team captain.


for year, berry tied national lead in interceptions 7 , returned them 265 yards , 2 touchdowns, breaking record set year earlier. combined yards accumulated freshman, berry set all-time career sec record interception return yards 487 yards, 14 yards shy of ncaa record interception return yards, set terrell buckley during time @ florida state. finished regular season 72 tackles, 6 pass break-ups , 3 sacks.


berry took snaps on offense @ quarterback , wide receiver, gaining 44 rushing yards on 7 carries. in addition, gained 32 yards on 2 kick-off returns.


his success had journalists speculating end being best defensive player in tennessee history. nominated finalist jim thorpe award, lott trophy, , chuck bednarik award.


berry named sec defensive player of year , first-team all-sec pick. unanimous first-team american. touchdown club of columbus named him winner of 2008 jack tatum award well.


2009 season

following junior season in 2009, berry first-team all-sec selection, , recognized unanimous first-team all-american second consecutive season. won jim thorpe award , recipient of touchdown club of columbus s jack tatum award second straight year.


he forwent last year of eligibility @ university of tennessee , entered 2010 nfl draft.

the sovereign building in 2011 the whitehall mall store sold leh s department store, several years flagship store on hamilton street in allentown remained vacant. added national register of historic places in 1979. in december 1982 allentown store purchased sovereign realty , development. building renovated , reopened sovereign building in may 1984. renovations included glass-arched entrance pedestrian plaza between hamilton , court streets leading grapefruit-domed lobby decor of antique brass, mirrors, greenery , wing-backed chairs. main floor , basement developed retail spaces, while upper floors turned 42 private office suites. sovereign later went financial difficulties , building sold @ sheriffs sale on 22 september 1989. today building operated office building owner resides in philadelphia.
