year round events

hal-con active in hrm community, promoting both convention , geek culture. hold events throughout year leading convention. these events include bbqs, dances, movie nights, game days, , participate in local parades , zombie walks of fans.

hal-con active in charity events. each year host live charity auction @ convention numerous silent auctions profits going iwk children s hospital , kids phone. participate local groups such let roll, board room game cafe, cape , cowl collectibles, geeks versus nerds , gelatinous dudes, numerous charity fund-raising events funds going local children groups, iwk children s hospital, kids phone, special needs camps, , japan disaster relief.


in first 5 years (2010–2015), raised on $45,000 charity.

Sovereign Building Zollinger-Harned Company Building

the sovereign building in 2011 the whitehall mall store sold leh s department store, several years flagship store on hamilton street in allentown remained vacant. added national register of historic places in 1979. in december 1982 allentown store purchased sovereign realty , development. building renovated , reopened sovereign building in may 1984. renovations included glass-arched entrance pedestrian plaza between hamilton , court streets leading grapefruit-domed lobby decor of antique brass, mirrors, greenery , wing-backed chairs. main floor , basement developed retail spaces, while upper floors turned 42 private office suites. sovereign later went financial difficulties , building sold @ sheriffs sale on 22 september 1989. today building operated office building owner resides in philadelphia.
