the club founded in 1920 foggia calcio. club spent history playing football in lower leagues, winning championship in dilettanti in 1933.


in 1957–58, merger took place between foggia calcio , foggia incedit, forming unione sportiva foggia club today. in 1961–62, team taken on president domenico rosa rosa, wood industrialist, , coach oronzo pugliese, led them promotion serie b.

history made in 1963–64 season, when rosa rosa , oronzo pugliese s foggia reached serie first time. 1964–65, foggia managed compete in 3 consecutive seasons in top flight. on 31 january 1965, still under guidance of coach pugliese, foggia recorded historic 3–2 victory against inter, @ time led manager helenio herrera. season crowned national call-ups of micelli , nocera played italy against wales. italy won 4–1 , nocera managed on scoresheet. @ end of season, pugliese left take charge of roma.


pugliese replaced egizio rubino, , foggia, although more difficulty compared previous season, managed survive drop again. following year, however, foggia relegated. forgettable championship, after 10 matches foggia had collected 3 points , scored 24 goals. rubino sacked , replaced bonazzini. team improved under bonazzini failed avoid relegation. @ end of season, president rosa rosa left club, following relegation.


relegated @ end of 1966–67 season, foggia returned top flight in 1970–71, tommaso maestrelli on bench. maestrelli later win 1973–74 scudetto lazio. luigi del neri was, @ time, foggia player. club relegated again , returned serie in 1973–74, before relegation came after 6-point deduction alleged corruption relating referee of home match against milan. coach season lauro toneatto. foggia played 2 more seasons in serie in 1976–77 , in 1977–78, when once more relegated serie b.

following relegation serie b, foggia dealt further blow relegation serie c. battled way in serie c1 throughout of 1980s. particularly tough time foggia regional rivals, bari, lecce, barletta , taranto playing @ higher levels.

following drop, foggia spent 2 seasons in serie b achieving mid-table finishes, before relegation followed @ end of 1997–98 season. did not fare better down in serie c1, successive relegation serie c2.


playing football in italy s fourth tier far less glamorous zemanlandia days club set on long road in 2002–03, when led coach pasquale marino , key players roberto de zerbi , michele pazienza, promoted serie c1.


after 2003–04 season, in finished mid-table signs following year, foggia hit financial problems , lost coach marino , best players.

the sovereign building in 2011 the whitehall mall store sold leh s department store, several years flagship store on hamilton street in allentown remained vacant. added national register of historic places in 1979. in december 1982 allentown store purchased sovereign realty , development. building renovated , reopened sovereign building in may 1984. renovations included glass-arched entrance pedestrian plaza between hamilton , court streets leading grapefruit-domed lobby decor of antique brass, mirrors, greenery , wing-backed chairs. main floor , basement developed retail spaces, while upper floors turned 42 private office suites. sovereign later went financial difficulties , building sold @ sheriffs sale on 22 september 1989. today building operated office building owner resides in philadelphia.
