the opposition politicians claimed speculations voting list. raffi hovannisian talked high possibility of fraud, caused fact 700,000 armenian citizens on voter lists in country, work outside impoverished nation.


before election campaign, osce/odihr mission recommended authorities toughen legal punishment vote buying , other irregularities , make voter lists more accurate.


during , after election, numerous cases of violation of armenian electoral code reported. raffi hovannisian s campaign headquarters reported on 100 violations, including open ballot (non-secret) voting, voter pressuring, multiple voting, etc.


one of local observer organizations iditord created online map of 400 documented irregularities before , during election day , vote counting. these include vote buying, voter intimidation, inconsistencies in voter lists, violations of voting procedures , other fraudulent activities.


amnesty international issued public statement listing numerous irregularities during elections , saying amnesty international calls on relevant authorities carry out prompt , impartial investigations allegations of rights violations during elections , hold responsible account. authorities must guarantee safety of participants @ post-election protests , public meetings.

on march 5th, ireland s former minister justice, osce observer, dermot ahern wrote letter talked evident discrepancy between results witnessed during vote counting in precinct 26/1 , final official results. among other inconsistencies noted not understand , still how invalid votes can become valid. made him conclude feel full re-examination of count should take place.
