blade ii released on march 22, 2002. during period of year (months march , april) considered bad time sequels released. despite this, film became successful film of blade series, making $80 million in united states , $150 million worldwide. in opening weekend, film earned $32,528,016 2,707 theaters dropped 59% of earnings in second week, brought in $13.2 million. intake believed affected (in part) pull of ncaa basketball final 4 games. film debuted in united kingdom @ number one, making $3.6 million 355 theatres , held spot following week, had earned $7.9 million, despite 47% decline. film number 1 in singapore, making $214,000 30 theatres.


critical reception

reaction blade ii among critics has been mixed positive. film earned 57% rating on rotten tomatoes. audiences polled cinemascore gave film average grade of b+ on a+ f scale.


roger ebert gave film 3½ stars out of 4, stating: blade ii rather brilliant vomitorium of viscera, comic book dreams of becoming textbook mad surgeons. conversely, james berardinelli gave film 2½ stars out of 4, stating: blade ii undiscriminating movie-goers want nothing more trip multiplex loud, raucous, mindless entertainment.

the new line platinum series dvd contains several deleted scene including flashback sequence showing blade s first meeting whistler, music video child of wild west performed by, west coast hip-hop group cypress hill , featuring drums , bass performer roni size, vhs capture , theatrical trailer.

the sovereign building in 2011 the whitehall mall store sold leh s department store, several years flagship store on hamilton street in allentown remained vacant. added national register of historic places in 1979. in december 1982 allentown store purchased sovereign realty , development. building renovated , reopened sovereign building in may 1984. renovations included glass-arched entrance pedestrian plaza between hamilton , court streets leading grapefruit-domed lobby decor of antique brass, mirrors, greenery , wing-backed chairs. main floor , basement developed retail spaces, while upper floors turned 42 private office suites. sovereign later went financial difficulties , building sold @ sheriffs sale on 22 september 1989. today building operated office building owner resides in philadelphia.
