after khanun became tropical storm on july 16, large area of convection associated tropical wave in south began split, , transformed tropical disturbance on july 17.japan meteorological agency (jma) upgraded system tropical depression on july 18. on july 20, tropical depression became more organized; however, due moderate vertical wind shear, , dry air coming north of system, low level circulation center became exposed, developed 3 multiple circulation centers. later day, joint typhoon warning center (jtwc) issued tropical cyclone formation alert on system; soon, philippine atmospheric, geophysical , astronomical services administration (pagasa) upgraded tropical depression , named ferdie. jtwc upgraded system tropical depression late on same day.


after system moved south china sea on july 21, jma upgraded system tropical storm , named vicente, while storm moved out of philippine area of responsibility. system’s convection began wrapping around circulation center, jtwc upgraded vicente tropical storm late on july 21. on july 22, vicente slowed down , looped, subtropical ridge northeast storm weakened. late on same day, jma upgraded vicente severe tropical storm. on july 23, because of weak vertical wind shear , high sea surface temperature, vicente’s structure became better organized, , started form eye when moved towards guangdong, china, prompting jtwc upgrading vicente category 1 typhoon. system continued strengthen, developed few hot towers, reaching 9.3 miles (15 km) high.soon after, vicente began phase of explosive intensification near pearl river delta, leading jtwc amend advisory @ 12z 70-knot (80.5 mph/129.6 kmh) category 1 typhoon 120-knot(138 mph/222 kmh) category 4 typhoon in 6 hours, , jma upgraded vicente typhoon around same time. when vicente located 110 kilometres south-southwest of hong kong @ 16:45 utc on july 23, hong kong observatory (hko) issued hurricane signal, no. 10, first since york in 1999 , farthest hong kong on record. then, typhoon vicente made landfall on taishan in guangdong, china @ 20:15 utc, 111 kilometers west of hong kong, category 4 typhoon winds of 213 km/h. on july 24, vicente still holding typhoon strength, on land, category 3 typhoon, winds of 185 kmh, , jma downgraded vicente severe tropical storm. later, jma downgraded vicente tropical storm , downgraded tropical depression late on same day.

the sovereign building in 2011 the whitehall mall store sold leh s department store, several years flagship store on hamilton street in allentown remained vacant. added national register of historic places in 1979. in december 1982 allentown store purchased sovereign realty , development. building renovated , reopened sovereign building in may 1984. renovations included glass-arched entrance pedestrian plaza between hamilton , court streets leading grapefruit-domed lobby decor of antique brass, mirrors, greenery , wing-backed chairs. main floor , basement developed retail spaces, while upper floors turned 42 private office suites. sovereign later went financial difficulties , building sold @ sheriffs sale on 22 september 1989. today building operated office building owner resides in philadelphia.
