1971 film shah s reforms


mohammad reza shah had intended non-violent regeneration of iranian society through economic , social reforms, ultimate long-term aim of transforming iran global economic , industrial power. shah introduced novel economic concepts such profit-sharing workers , initiated massive government-financed heavy industry projects, nationalization of forests , pastureland. important, however, land reform programs saw traditional landed elites of iran lose of influence , power. 90% of iranian sharecroppers became landowners result.


socially, platform granted women more rights , poured money education, in rural areas. literacy corps established, allowed young men fulfill compulsory military service working village literacy teachers.


the white revolution consisted of 19 elements introduced on period of 15 years, first 6 introduced in 1962 , put national referendum on january 26, 1963.

the sovereign building in 2011 the whitehall mall store sold leh s department store, several years flagship store on hamilton street in allentown remained vacant. added national register of historic places in 1979. in december 1982 allentown store purchased sovereign realty , development. building renovated , reopened sovereign building in may 1984. renovations included glass-arched entrance pedestrian plaza between hamilton , court streets leading grapefruit-domed lobby decor of antique brass, mirrors, greenery , wing-backed chairs. main floor , basement developed retail spaces, while upper floors turned 42 private office suites. sovereign later went financial difficulties , building sold @ sheriffs sale on 22 september 1989. today building operated office building owner resides in philadelphia.
