the portion of railway in bronx north of east 180th street station used irt dyre avenue line, carrying 2 , ​5 trains east 180th street eastchester – dyre avenue.


the former new york, westchester , boston railroad administration building @ 180th street , morris park road in bronx houses offices of new york city transit authority.


there abandoned right-of-way 180th 177th streets. elevated structure (without tracks) went far south lebanon street. right of way being replaced apartments. connected new haven railroad main line near 174th street south of cross-bronx expressway , remained interchange between irt , new haven railroad, last cars delivered via 180th street interchange main line r36s in 1964.


between east 141st street , east 133rd street, south of bruckner expressway, in port morris section of bronx, roadbed preserved. 1 track remains, bridges on roadways , catenary structures tracks. south of 133rd street, freight stub breaks off northeast corridor, directly above abandoned roadbed @ point. 40°48′0″n 73°54′47″w / 40.80000°n 73.91306°w / 40.80000; -73.91306 (port morris roadbed)


in west farms, catenary bridge #1, first northbound catenary bridge after nyw&b branches off of nh, remains.


an abandoned station entrance parallel whitlock avenue station exists on hell gate line. station entrance former location of now-demolished westchester avenue station.

the extended catenary structures used in locations nh , nyw&b shared rails still exist in many places, though catenary tower stub outermost track may missing. location of station houses in mamaroneck , harrison show space nyw&b right of way.


the tunnel leading nyw&b platforms behind mamaroneck station still there. platforms located current parking lot is.


the mamaroneck metro-north station shared both new haven , nyw&b.


mount vernon

large concrete bridge abutments remain @ hutchinson boulevard in northern willson s woods park in mount vernon. lorraine terrace, residential street, runs along former rail line. remains of columbus avenue station in mount vernon, including abutment on opposite (north) side of nh line, still in place.


the east third street station building in mount vernon, east of south fulton avenue, temporarily , partially remains. until 2010 used granite supplier. was, of october 7, 2016, in process of demolition make way potential development.


remains of kingsbridge road station, north of bronx/mount vernon border, in place; of sealed stationhouse , elevated line remain intact.

white plains branch

the heathcote bypass runs weaver street secor road 1.13 miles (1.82 km) on right of way of nyw&b, bypassing of major intersection of 3 roads @ new rochelle-scarsdale border locally called 5 corners.


the former quaker ridge station, @ stratton , kewanee roads, private residence surrounded woodlands. station s former driveway , turn-around remain owned city use public street. house retains 2 main platforms.


a cement wall runs along stratton road, east of quaker ridge station. reflects style of station, built buffer road traffic.


some traces remain within northwestern edge of ward acres park, formerly ward family estate. family used railroad during ownership, constructing short rail siding loading , unloading of horses , associated equipment. concrete block outbuilding, commonly referred forge , on right of way in ward acres park parallel broadfield road. 40°57′27″n 73°47′2″w / 40.95750°n 73.78389°w / 40.95750; -73.78389 (ward acres park)


a stone bridge in southeastern woods of ward acres, parallel pinebrook boulevard. bridge crosses stream along right of way between wykagyl , quaker ridge , in perfect condition.


the former wykagyl station part of shopping center on east side of north avenue near quaker ridge road. building suffered extensive damage after three-alarm fire in april 2012.


wykagyl s commercial , retail area entirely on property , track beds along former ny&wb right of way, running under wykagyl station , continuing eastward along quaker ridge road.


new rochelle branch , port chester extension

the former remington station on webster avenue in new rochelle used retail stores.


the right of way west of remington station pelham border remains, paralleled on either side residential streets (french ridge , sickles avenue). although obscured surrounding homes, large stretch of railroad property can viewed using satellite mapping sites online (40°54′51″n 73°47′48″w / 40.91417°n 73.79667°w / 40.91417; -73.79667).


the southbound i-95 exit , entrance ramps @ cedar street in new rochelle , adjacent memorial highway access roads built on trackbed of nyw&b s north avenue station. when new england thruway [i-95] first built (1956-1958), station s concrete foundation on east side of north avenue removed , long entrance ramp joined north avenue @ t intersection @ grade. in 1960s, western foundation contained station house demolished, , memorial highway roadway , north avenue overpass completed traffic circle west of former station. prior highway construction, fill west of north avenue station had been removed provide space barracks-style housing returning world war ii veterans.


a concrete abutment , retaining wall, western part of nyw&b overpass, remains of december 2012, on prince street, approximately midway between remington station , north avenue station.


one side of overpass carried street on both new haven , nyw&b still remains behind stop & shop on palmer avenue. right next former pine brook station. can seen i-95 west of toll plaza, or off petersville rd bridge.


pelham

on highbrook ave near intersection of harmon still extant bridge carried nyw&b tracks. bridge being preserved group named highbrook highline . west of nyw&b s remington station.


port chester

the terminal building in port chester once served car dealership. church.


scarsdale

the former heathcote station, on street level @ 5 corners, houses real living 5 corners real estate.


the heathcote bypass runs weaver street secor road 1.13 miles (1.82 km) on right of way of nyw&b, bypassing of major intersection of 3 roads @ new rochelle-scarsdale border locally called 5 corners. on may 28, 2012 real living 5 corners real estate celebrated 100 anniversary of building. village of scarsdale has issued official proclamation.

much of roadbed 3 blocks east of , parallel old mamaroneck road in white plains south of former mamaroneck avenue station city border scarsdale white plains greenway, pedestrian trail.
